I've been studying this for a lttile while now and here's my take on What A Social Media Star/Influencer really is!
Social media has completely changed the way one can become famous - it has disrupted the fame game if you will
Today, the most recognizable celebrities to the current teen and young adult population gained their fame through their personal accounts on digital platforms like Vine (owned by Twitter), Instagram (owned by Facebook) and SnapChat. Not from a TV show or a movie and they certainly had no help.
How Do They Become Stars? 1- Talent
One has to have the raw talent it takes to rapidly conceptualize, shoot and edit share-worthy content, all on a cell phone. Videos must be funny, relatable or somehow extraordinary while photographs must be highly impressionable as does music. It takes talent.
Posting quality content on a consistent basis. Period.
3- Luck (or famous Viner friends)
A single post going viral can make one a star in less than 24 hrs but with 8,333 videos shared on Vine every minute, luck has to be on your side.
Luck can also come in the form of a friend who happens to be a famous Viner with millions of followers. Appearing and getting tagged in the right Vine, on the right account can make it happen in no time and a 7 figure salary for posting 4 pieces of content a week, along with the ability to influence millions of kids around the globe can be all yours.
