It was a rainy afternoon in winter when the wind picked up and blew my skirt up for the entire Whole Foods parking lot to see as I struggled for much longer than necessary to get my 30 pound stroller into the trunk of my car. Seriously, it weighed 30 pounds. I was a new mommy and very green when it came to baby gear. What a novice! And what a waste of trunk space that travel system was. It didn’t even hold my Venti without having to remove the sleeve. Truly, not the choice for a city mom short on trunk space and who needs to get in and out of the car NOW.
Then the Maclaren Volo entered my life, with its smooth, swiveling wheels and a compact umbrella fold. We are hell on wheels all over town at a mere 8.6 pounds complete with a 5 point harness, sunshade, and a carry strap for slinging it over the shoulder in the airport, on the subway, and the Disneyland tram. This stroller weighs less than my handbag. And no more deeper shades of boring either. The Volo comes in electrifying and eye popping candy colors in addition to the classic nuetrals. We are partial to the Rasberry, but lusting after the designer White Volo.
With a 5 second one-hand fold (it sounds confusing, I know, but when you are juggling groceries, a screaming baby, and extreme weather conditions, it's just what you need. Trust me.), it has won my heart and until Sofia maxes out the 55 pound weight limit, it’ll be Volo all the way.(www.maclarenbaby.com)
