I just discoved a great line of t's and thermals for kids. It's called TYKECOON and their tag line is "Give a hoot! Clothing that cares!" The designs are super cute and kinda retro cool with signature owl, robot, elephant, giraffe and totem images. I think Jack looks super cute in the "Toy Squares" shirt. Best part is that the company gives 10% back to different children's charities such as One Laptop Per Child, Ronald McDonald House and Kids in Dsitressed Situations.
I also love that Tykecoon was started by a momentrepenuer, Michelle, from Los Angeles, CA who transformed designs from her stationery and invitation company,www.bumpercards.com into Tykecoon. She wanted Tykecoon to be more the just another company, but one that makes a difference.
"I have always wanted to do something that gives back. And now as a mother it seems even more important to take action. To me Tykecoon is a very powerful, yet playful word which represents the strength that exists in every child and the strength they create within us. They give us new vision as we help shape their world. It's the feeling you get when you see all the possibilities in front of you and nothing is impossible. You have the strength of a "TYKECOON"!
Not to be all serious...Tykecoon is also playful. As 'tycoon' means powerful businessman, 'tykecoon' reminds me of the moment when your child knows s/he just worked you over to get what s/he wanted; just one more book or one more cookie or just one more hug! The power of persuasion that only a look of a 2 yr. old can master. That, is a true Tykecoon!"
Thanks Michelle!
