Jack Has Konfidence!

I've come across a  problem and  a solution that I wanted to share.   I was in Austin,Texas last week with my family.  Little Jack and I were frying in the heat and we wanted to indulge in some of Austin's cool spring fed pools.  If you know Austin then you know we headed right for Barton Springs!   What a fantastic place.  The water is like a giant pool or a small lake that has grassy hills surrounding it.  There are shallow areas and deeper ones with diving boards - and tons of kids having the time of their life!  So what's the problem?  Baby Jack was  in limbo.  The sun's powerful rays were too strong, yet the the water temperature was very cool!  Because it's a natural spring the water was under 70 degrees even though the daily tempertature was going to peak at over 90.  Enter , Konfidence a company that manufactures clothing for exactly these situations!  They make kids swim suits, hats, you name it.

As you can see in this picture, Jack was prepared!  He had on his Konfidence Sun Protection Clothing and Warma Wetsuit.  The Sun Protection Clothing is made a light material that blocks out 98% UVPF.  I liked how it stretched really nicely right onto his little body.   It zips right up the front and kept him safe from the hot Texas rays.  To keep him warm in the cool spring water, the Warma Wetsuit Velcroed over his shoulders and between his legs in a second.  It fit him in a way that still allowed him to move his tiny arms and legs.  Last but not least, there is a hat available from Konfidence (that he ripped off his head) that was perfect... except for the fact that he pulled it off.  It's made with the same material as his clothing and has flaps in the back that cover his neck.  It does have elastic, however a tie would have made it more difficult for him to pull off.  He's one persistent kid who hates hats.

If you're going to take your baby into the water this summer, check out the whole line of Konfidence gear and you'll be confident that your little one is safe and warm.

No More Neckties!!

Father’s Day is only a few days away… and one in 3 of you will go out on the hunt for a gift for a grad. Here are some gift ideas for ya.

Blackbird

Alpine Blackbird Price
$499.95

We all know Dad hates to stop and ask for directions, so never let him get lost again. The Blackbird from the experts at Alpine Electronics is a touchpad GPS device that I'm lovin'.  It’s a super user-friendly, portable car navigation system with a comprehensive map of the U. S. and Canada (is anyone up for a Road Trip?!) … AND it’s got a digital music player.   Oh, and it has a built in traffic tuner.   There are no extra antennas needed - and that comes free for 90 days and is $60 a year after.  Totally worth it!

DISH HDDVR
DVR is FREE with new subscription to HDchanels

Next up… Tube Time!

Don’t let your Dad or Grad miss any of their favorite TV shows.  This Vip622 DVR from Dish Network lets you record your favorite programs to watch them when and how you want.  It'll hold up to 30 hours of HD programming and 200 hours of standard definition.  This DVR is unique because you can house all of the recorded shows on the DVR and the programming can be accessed by any unit in the houase. It’s got a unique 30-second skip forward button so you can fast forward through commercials and watch an hour program in less than 40 minutes.  There’s no reason for the college kids to cut class any longer.  DISH has a great new package that includes programming, free installation and a free DVR.

Hybrid GP Air Purifier from Sharper Image

$499.95

Now for those high school grads heading off to college, here’s a great gift for the dorm room - an air purifier.  The Sharper Image Hybrid GP is really cool and here's how it works...it cleans the air by charging and trapping the airborn particles, which means there’s no filter to change and very little dust. And for those “green” folks out there, by-products aren’t an issue because the purifier has an OzoneGuard grid that converts by-products into clean oxygen.  But what I like best: it’s got 4 brushless fans but it’s totally silent, so nothing will be competing with your TV.

CA Internet Security Suite

$79.99

Your dads and grads will thank you when they get down to business and know that their PC’s are secure.  You don’t want them to lose any term papers or tax documents!  This is a great gift from CA. It’s their Internet Security Suite and data backup software.  It comes in a cool thin, credit card shaped flash drive to move your files, music, pictures, etc. from one PC - to let’s say your brand new one!

A few bonuses - the housing is actually a reusable 2 gig thumb drive and they throw in a retractable ethernet cord ( I love playing with these little things).  The drive is compatible with all Vista systems.

L77_001

L77 Digital Camera from Samsung

$399.99

And finally, here’s the latest & greatest in digital cameras.  It’s Samsung's New L77, the world's thinnest 7 mega pixel, 7 x optial zoom camera. Not only does it look cool, it’s got what they call ASR- Advanced Shake Reduction to really reduce hand shake.  This enables you to capture the best shots even where there’s not tons of light.  It also lets you record mini-movies!  On this tiny camera you can edit your clips, even before you’re back home at your computer.
