Mom's Day Gift Ideas

For Mother's day this year why not get your Mom something savvy. Something cool. Something with and on and off switch! Today's Moms love gadgets just as much as the Dads so why not consider one for her as well.

1- The Gift Of Gab
Skpye is a free software that you download then use to call land lines or other computers for free. This Mother's day Skype and Intel have partnered up to give you The Gift Of Gab allowing anyone to call anywhere (land line, cell, or computer) for free all day. You can also use Skype to make video calls using a netcam.
With this little gadget you can actually see and hear your Mom when she's far, far away. I'm liking this Loghitech Quickcam Deluxe that works seamlessly with Skype. The camera has a built in mic with noise reduction , light adjustment and is really easy to use. Once you're all set up you simply go into Skpye, find your contact, my Mom is of course in my contacts, then click on her. And look, there's Mom. Hi Mom.

2- The Gift Of Imaging
I've been waiting for a camera to come out the has it all: a great still cam, an HD DVD video recorder, and a small design. I've found one in the Sony Handycam HDR-UX7, if you don't mind carrying around a little larger unit, it shoots great HD video right onto a DVD that looks amazing when viewed on an HD TV. I was very impressed. The still image is a hefty 6.1-mega pixel image and there's a flash if you need one. All of this and some cool effect like the Smooth Slow Recording for slow playback of quick movements are sure to make Mom happy.

4- The Gift Of The Perfect Computing Experience
I've got two for ya here. The new MacBook from Apple is a superior Laptop. This computer is going to be the most reliable machine in the house as it never crashes and is so east to use. It's super thin and light and comes in either black or white. Inside it's loaded with a 1.83 GHZ processor, 60GB hard drive, built in camera, and OSX Tiger. Included with the machine is the whole iLife suite allowing mom to organize all of her images, movies and music in a logical way that goes beyond just the computer room.

If it's a PC she craves then check out the Dell XPS M1210. With it you're rocking Windows Vista, a 120 GB hard drive, a built in netcam, , all of the security you need to keep safe online, quick processing and all in a 4.4lbs package. This computer is perfect for the Mom on the go who likes to keep all of her work and play with her in a reliable computer.

5- The Gift Of Easy Giving
If you're too busy to get to a store this Mother's day, but want to send the highest quality gift at the best price, RedEnvelope.com IS the site for you. I ordered some beautiful pajamas from them and they were delivered in their signature red box in just one day. They have classy, unique gifts that range anywhere from under $30, like monogrammed gardening gloves, to fine jewelry, like the diamondinitial necklace and jewelry carrying case. This site is where I always tell folks to go to get the special gift that mom will remember for ever. They also have unique flowers that you can never go wrong with.

6 The Gift Of Erasing Stress
That's right, this little gadget really claims to erase stress. Simply put your finger in the slot of the Stress Eraser and relax as your stress melts away. This is a new technology that is almost unbelievable, but it works! The screen gives you bio feedback allowing you to see how you're breathing then earn pointsuntil your relaxation session is over. You truly are forced to relax because you want to earn the points and watch your breath slow. Use this baby a few times a week and your stress will lessen.

So that's my list of what I'd like. What did you end up giving or getting this Mother's day?
