BabiesTravelLite

This is a site that'll have you traveling home from a trip feeling like this:

Cat_jack_plane

And NOT feeling like this: Tiredofplane. :-)

OMG! This is one of THE coolest sites I've seen for families that travel with babies. What a great idea!

One of the things that is a major pain in the toe when traveling with a little one is all the stuff you have to bring along with you. Well, this is a service that eliminates that issue for you by sending all of the baby essentials to your destination for you! Such a load off... literally. Their slogan is "Worldwide delivery of your favorite baby supplies to all of your travel destinations." Genius.

You go onto the site and choose from 6 categories; Diapers, Meal Time, Bath Time, Sun Time, Gear, and Baby Bundles. Within each category there are a number of item that you can select and then have sent right to your hotel! Think about it, no more stuffing diapers into every empty crevice in that already over packed bag of yours. And no more valuable space taken up by empty bottles and those large canisters of formula. And hey, if you're lucky enough to be heading to a warm destination where your little one will be rockin' it out in the water, for $40 why not have a "Beach Bundle" sent equipped with little swimmers, the neat sheet (provides a place to sit) , sand toy and 20' beach ball !?!

Another great use for this site is if you've never traveled with the little one before, go to the site to see what kinds of things you'll need as well as what types of things are available for traveling on the "Travel Gear" page. I see that they have something I highly recommend for travelers, a stroller carrier bag so that your stroller doesn't get thrashed when checked at the gate. The dudes tossing it under the plane have no love for your baby mover, trust me!

Props to the spotter of this cool site, my friend Cristine who's now a mommy to baby Kingsley James.

Think you have a cool site for me? Email it to me at CatSchwartz@gmail.com .

Now go, be the best mommy (or daddy) you can be!

KTLA New Year’s Resolution Solutions Segment

Each January millions of people start the New Year with the best of intentions in keeping their resolutions, Yet experts estimate 80 percent of people who make resolutions will fail by Jan. 20. How can you avoid being another statistic in 2007? Here are a few products that I featured on the TLA morning news that just might be the solutions to your New Year’s resolutions.

Scale
Let’s get started with what is consistently the number one resolution on most people’s lists—losing weight and getting healthy. No surprise, a recent survey ranked losing weight the number one resolution for 2007.

When you’re watching your food portion and nutrition intake, it can get pretty confusing. You need a shortcut. Solution? An advanced kitchen scale that not only weighs but also count calories for you.
For those who resolved to watch what they eat, this Salter Housewares’ Nutri-Weigh Dietary Computer Scale makes it easy to not only weigh your food, but it will also calculate calories for the actual weight of the food plus help you reach your goals by tracking your daily food intake. Salter Housewares’ Nutri-Weigh dietary computer scale also analyzes the nutritional content of foods with a database that contains USDA nutritional values for over 1440 foods and liquids. This scale provides portion weight and nutritional data, based on that portion size, for calories, fat, carbs, sugars, protein and more, with a programmable memory that allows up to two people to maintain a daily record and to set dietary goals.
Available at Williams-Sonoma and Bed, Bath and Beyond for $99.99.

OK, so you’re eating healthy and working out, but cooking is not where you want to exert your energy at the end of the day. Solution? Really cool looking ergonomic kitchen tools!

If you are looking for motivation to get into the kitchen this year, AR+COOK’s new line of stylish kitchen utensils provide the perfect inspiration.  What makes these tools unique are the pockets of pressurized air inside the handles (think about the air in your sneakers), making them healthier for your hands by providing the best comfort, the most secure grip and complete control of the tool. The tools also feature a zinc core inside the handle which adds weight to the tools, allowing them to work more efficiently, thereby reducing the need to exert excessive force when completing the cooking task at hand.  There are currently 49 Art and Cook tools available in orange, pink, purple, green, black and white and they range in price from $10-$40 at Macy’s Costa Mesa and http://wwwChefCentral.com.

So this morning Inside Edition calls...

And the producer is looking for someone to talk about cool Internet vidz and sites that look like fun games. You know, the type that you feel you need to pass along so your friends will think you're still on the bleeding edge or something. The rub? They're ads. She wants to do a live shot in like an hour and needs me to be in a studio in Hollywood ten minutes ago. Wellll, I live near LAX which is FAR from there and I need to do at least an hour worth of research so I can really wow them with my knowledge of Internet "stuff" and all. It was a funny scene and it went something like this: I was running between the bathroom and the office with a pump attached for lil Jack. In the office I was IMing everyone I know about the subject while attacking google. Meanwhile, in the bathroom, the flat iron was on and the makeup kit was out and I was darting in and out trying to get this new hair cut of mine to sit just right. All along my ear was attached to the phone so that my home girl, Wynter , who is all knowing when it comes to this stuff, could give me all the 411 she knew on things like that darn subservient chicken that keeps popping up! Thank GOD Keef and the baby were sleeping because that silence is golden and I don't want Keef to think I'm any more outta control as a multitasker than he already does! Just as I'm finalizing my list, adding formula to what I pumped, dusting the blush on my face, moving my 1:00 GameFly meeting to later in the day and looking for my GPS device, the producer calls and says they're sorry but they don't need me anymore today. Hahaha! I love this biz! She was cool about it and said she'd use me in the future. I'm glad I was able hustle so I could accept the "almost" appearance. I have faith they'll call again and that when in need, The HiTechMommy will persevere!

So, if I had asked for your help, what would you have shown me? Got any ideas? Also, do these make you mad?

Bringing Home Baby

OOPS!!! The show airs TOMORROW on TLC at 3:00 PST. I think I'm more nervous about this than any other TV show I've done. I guess that's because the content on this show is the most personal I've ever been on camera. You see my house, my family and my emotions. Remember, I was pregnant and then had a baby so my hormones were nuts! Get ready to see me cry like a, well, baby. It'll re-air and I'm sure we'll youtube some of it if you miss it. Oh, and you'll see some gadgets on there too!

HiTechMommy

Hi. As you can see I have a new look! After having baby Jack, I've decided to use my knowledge of technology and now babies and turn it into a new persona, HiTechMommy. This is a site where you can come to see what's going with me as well as the latest and greatest in parenting gadgets and technology! This year is going to be a good one for the site and I'm really excited to get things underway.

First off, I'll be appearing as "The Hi Tech Mommy" on the KTLA morning news here in LA next week. You can catch me there on Thursday, Jan. 18th at 8:45 PST. Next up, TLC will be airing our episode of "Bringing Home Baby" on Friday, Jan. 19th. Check your listings for times.

As always, you can see pix of the family on Keef's (my wonderful husband) MoBlog or my MoBlog . He's better at posting new pix than I am and he also works on the TV show South Park, so if you like that show you may get an inside look at what it's like over there.

I'll be getting this site all hooked up with my reel and info soon, so stay tuned.

Wish me luck!
