Gadgets!!!

World's 1st Hands Free Breast Pump
WhisperWear

http://www.whisperwear.com/
$219
OK, so I really have no idea about breast pumps because I've never used one, but this looks pretty darn cool. Traditional pumps keep you sitting next to the base unit for however long it takes to fill a bottle. 10 minutes? 10 hours? I have no idea! But I will and with this cool gadget I don't have to be stationery, I can roam around the house taking care of little Jack while I'm pumpin' out his din din. This pump works on it's own with 3 speeds and is totally hands free. There's an online demo so you can see how it does it's thang.

Baby Crying Analyzer
Why Cry Analyzer

http://www.whycrycanada.com/
$99
OMG! If this works it's on the top of my list as the thing every mom MUST have! This gizmo tells you why the hell the kid is screaming its head off! You hold the unit up to the baby and it will light up a little face that comes with an explanation chart. The chart tells you possible reasons why your baby is crying and a slue of suggestions as to what to do to get them to hush hush. It's kind of like a mood ring for moms, but the company claims the thing is correct about 80% of the time.

Stokke Stroller
Stokke Xplory

http://www.stokkeusa.com/
$750
When I was doing research for this segment I did a google search for cool-high-tech stroller and this is what I came up with. The design alone is something out of the future, but once you start exploring all of the functions you see where the tech comes in. I'm not talking bits and bytes kind of tech, but I'm talking the ability to swiftly maneuver the things from bassinet to stroller, then from a high chair to an ecsilator/stairs friendly way to get your kid from one floor to the next. It's beautiful and I love that it also has the ability to extend and adjust to a length that my 6'6 husband feels comfortable with, not to mention what a hot dad he looks like when he's pushing it. Purrrrr.

Movement & Sound Monitor
Angelcare Movement Sensor with Sound Monitor

$80
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome is something every new family is fearful of. This system will help elevate some of that fear by keeping tabs on your child while he's sleeping. The unit comes in three parts, a pad that goes under the babies sleeping surface, and a base station, and a monitor/alarm. The sensor works like this, if your child fails to move in a 20 second period, the wireless alarm unit will sound. I know 20 seconds sounds like a short amount of time, but it's not when you think about the heart beating and chest moving and so on. The sensor can be turned up or down so you can get an accurate idea of your child's safety. Very key when trying to work around the house yet make sure she's safe because, again, you can also listen in on her as long as you have the wireless monitor unit on you and you're within 500 feet of the infant.

Rear-View Mirror Monitoring System
Summer Infant Automobile Monitor

http://www.summerinfant.com/view/4/6/
$149
Talk about a must have! If you're going to get a mom-to-be one gift, make it this one. Instead of turing your head to see what the little guy is doing in the back seat all you have to do is glance at this easy to install video screen. The camera attaches to the back of your headrest then runs a wire to the monitor which plugs into your cigarette lighter. I can't emphasize how easy this things is to use and to install. Oh Oh! AND it has night vision!

Wipes Warmer
Combi Quick Warmer

http://www.combi-intl.com/virtualshowroom/index.htm
$20
The last thing you want to put on your sleepy babies booty is a shockingly cold baby wipe, right? Once you get one of these cool gadgets your lil one will never know what a cold wipe is! Simply put the wipes in this box, plug the box in and poof, warm wipes!

Wireless Video Monitor
Bebe Sounds Video Monitor
$180

Sure a sound monitor is a fine way to keep an ear on her when she's sleeping, but if you do hear something you have to make the trek to the nursery to see what she doing. This unit give you the freedom to see and hear from up to 500 feet away! It's a lovely little wireless monitor that fits in a large pocket that communicates with a camera which is pointed at you baby in his room. The system works very well through all kinds of walls and interference and I was impressed with the video in both high and low light situations.

Baby Sound Monitors and Music Players
Bebe Sounds Parental Gift Set Deluxe

http://www.bebesounds.com/products_prenatalgiftsets1h_description.asp
$40
I honestly can't think of a better way to spend $40 than on this thing. This is a gadget that will allow you and your husband/partner/whoever to actually listen to the babies heartbeat, talk and play music to the baby, and record sounds the baby is making in the womb so you can email them to the rest of the family. All of that for just $40! Pretty cool, huh? Ok, so, how can you do all that? There's a pair of headsets that attach to the super sensitive microphone which picks up on the babies movements, heart beats, burps and other sounds through mom's tummy. The mic also has attachments to feed the sound into your computer so you can record the sounds and send them to friends. Next you can speak to your child with the included speaking and song microphones that will help familiarize your child with your voices through your tummy. The folks over at Bebe Sounds believe in classical music being used to enhance your child's brain development, so they've added a Mozart CD that can be played to the child with the product. Again, all of this for just $40. Amazing.

DadGear Diaper Bags
DadGear

http://dadgear.com/gear.cfm
$92
As I was researching this segment my wonderful husband, Keef, kept looking over my shoulder to see if there was anything for him in this. So I decided to hook him up and find him something great. I came upon these PERFECT gifts for the dad to be. This company not only makes diaper bags for dad, but they make diaper jackets, messenger bags, and vests! Each product is cleverly designed with the baby toting dad in mind. The idea is for the dad to only have to use one hand when reaching for wipes, bottles, diapers, crackers and even his own gear. The fabrics they use are very cool for any hipster dad out there.

Fever Monitor
Bebe Sounds Fever Monitor
$30
This is a cleaver idea. It's a thermometer that attaches to the babies diaper and once set will alert you if his temperature elevates one degree. I think this is just great! It means I don't have to keep invading my son every half an hour to see if he's worsening. I can just leave him alone and let the gadget do its job. I heart technology.

RedEnvelope.com Baby Gift Set
$150
One of my favorite ways to order gifts online is through RedEnvelope.com. They certainly don't lack in quality or quantity when it came to looking up gifts for new families.
